Robert George JACOBS died 3rd November, 1918, and his name is on the Harton Cemetery War Memorial.
What is surprising, we find he was a D.S.M. holder.
Can anyone please help with finding out how he won this award. Would be most grateful and offer any family research here in Norfolk.

Wow!! Thank you Pilot. I've just spent the whole evening reading all the citations and feeiing quite proud of all those brave men.
Robert received his award in 1916; but didn't d*e until November 3rd 1918. What a time to go - right at the end of the war.
Robert was born in Great Yarmouth in 1885, but moved to South Shields and married Margaret Ann Shaw there in 1914.
Thanks again........... Joan.
