cheryl cole - sanddancer ?

I know Mrs Cole comes from Heaton , but I heard that her mother Joan was connected with South Shields , Laygate area .It might be just a rumour , but I have just seen a picture of her and she looks the spitting image of an old friend of my wife . does anybody know if she or her mam ( granma ) or dad (grandad) did come from shields ?

Her maiden name was Tweedy, if that helps.

Tweedy was the maiden name of Cheryl Cole, therefore it would be her mothers married name.

she ought to be at least an honorary sanddancer now with her support of Joe Mc.whatsisname on the X Factor .I saw all you crazy locals giving it plenty when the TV showed shots of South Shields .!
