Always been upstairs to the boxing club. You go in the Horsley Hill Center and go up the stairs and its there!

I remember going to a halloween party in the community centre when I was about 6 or 7 - I was terrified!!!
Think my dentist was there as well but he retired and I didnt like the new one so bit his finger every time he came near my mouth!!

Used to knock about with a few nutters from the Hill in my teens. They used to brag how the police instead of walking the beat on their own as they did in the rest of the town, had to walk about at the Hill in pairs.
Can remember Slim Knox who died at a young age, getting off the bus at the Hill on his return from court where he had been fined £100 for fighting, he saw a girl who had given evidence against him that morning sitting on the wall at the bus stop. He belted her, was arrested and was back in court that afternoon and was fined £200. That was in the days when our wages were only about £14 per week.
