Brrrr. That's bleeding brass monkey weather. And you call it Sunny South Shields. You should have used that photo of an Eskimo using those ice floes as paving stones to get over to North Shields.
How was a totally inorganic world able to create organic life? Answer it couldn't and didn't

That ferry took cars as well, didn't it.
I wonder if we'll get any more winters like that ?

It never gets that cold in Aussie or New Zealand. Not that we would admit it like.

Re: The Old Ferry...
I was on that ferry at the end of the December just before that photo was taken.
The weather was just as bad then, and it was snowing as well. It was the first
day after passing my driving test and I had to drive up to Ashington to do a job.
The car handbrake did not work properly and two of the tyres were bald. It was
an absolute nightmare, but I made it there and back ok. I'll never forget that
experience.

Re: The Old Ferry...
Told my boss that I wouldn't drive it again until it was put right.
It was a little old Ford Thames van, and they had two brand new minis
standing doing nothing while I was driving that heap around. It got part
exchange for a new van the day after I refused to drive it.

Two bald tyres and your nic is baldy. Sounds like those bald tyres made a lasting impression on you.

They couldn't make an impression on anything, they had no tread.Globalmyths wrote:Two bald tyres and your nic is baldy. Sounds like those bald tyres made a lasting impression on you.
