Bank Holiday Monday and found the Marine Park lake was getting drained out.....

What's happening there ?

What a day.

I was going to mothers ( near Gurnams ) and promised the wife some Fish & Chips from Colmans.

So came through tunnel, taking all the short cuts to miss heavy traffic and got to Colmans to find a queue down the street....

Couldn't get parked for all the ones at sea front, so went passed ( empty ) Marine Park and made may way to The Fountain Inn to get F&C from the chip shop there.

SHUT !

So went past the Hill and dodged that one ( tried it ages ago and it was crap ) so I thought I wonder if the chippy is still up beside the Lake......

GONE.

Ended up getting them from Gills at The Nook.

Took an hour just to get Fish and Chips......

The traffic was shocking down there today

I saw the queues at all the chippies
at a fiver a pop as well
a good day for the owners

The park is being restored with 4 million quid from HLF funding.

The lake edge is being replaced ( the crappy blue concrete will go) and rather than drain the whole thing and upset the wildfowl there was a dam built to do half at a time. The new edge will be textured to warn people who have sight problems that they are close to the water.
There will be aeration tubes put into the water so that bubbles willbe seen rising from the bottom.
The bandstand is being replaced and the waterfall is being turned back on. Art work is going into the park at various places.

I spoke to one of the park rangers the other day!!! this is why I am a fountain of knowledge
