Sweet Shop Boldon Lane

Post by Lucyanna »

Hi

I'm looking for some information about the shop my grandparents used to run during 1930's/40s.

It was on Boldon Lane and as far as I know used to sell sweets and also had a machine that made fizzy drinks. I've also been told it used to be open quite late at night. I don't know the name of the shop but my grandparents names were Ernest and Eleanor Heath and they had one daughter Irene. I also know my grandmothers family (Robson) had several shops, general dealers I think, around South Shields.

Not a lot of info I know :( but I'm hoping someone out there knows something about the shop.

Thanks
Lucy A :D

Sorry I can't help you there, but if you want to know all about beautiful New Zealand. I know a great bloke called Bruce Douglas who could help you with any of your questions if you would like him too.

I do rememer a shop on the corner of boldon lane and stanhope road, was called Maynaud's Sweet Shop, It had thousands of different kinds of sweets the shop was full of them. I hope this is what your looking for. I was born 1967 so cant really remember the fizzy pop.
