That's why whenever possible I drive on the pavements.

I think we see a big increase in Driving schools especially as lots of new EU members who come here are learning to be instructors.

I see the ads on Uk tv about becoming a driving instucter. Not a job I would fancy! They say you can earn upto 30000 a year. It may be true, but you have to work all hours to suit the customers then sit with them while they slowly destroy your gearbox. And smile!

You're right there jim.
A mate of mine did it for about thirty years up to very recently when he retired.
His busiest times were very early in the morning, evenings, Saturdays and Sundays, not leaving him with much of a social life. His income was such that his wife was actually the bread winner in the house, bringing in substantually more than he was.
When his car was out of action due to the hammering it got by the learners, he had no income until the car was back on the road.
Not my idea of a choice job.

i just recently learnt with blaze s.o.m, bit pricey but i thought they were good, passed first time only last week!

blaze seem to be getting quite big now
plenty of their cars on the road

must be hard to earn 30k pa now tho
there is a helluva lot of driving schools now

i personally think you need to be taught by an adi who knows all the test routes
there is 8 i think and all have a little traps in them

so i think you need to learn how to pass your test, then learn how to drive

you could be a very good driver, but fall into one of the traps, and you fail

It takes abiut 1 hour to learn to drive a car.



It takes about 20 years to learn to do it proprly.

You never said a truer word.

However you never really learn to master it.

remember there no such thing a the perfect driver

does anybody get road rage here? i only been driving a week and im developing quite a case

best thing to do is just chill no point in getting worked over something that can happen from time to time

i suppose like, its the little things that wind me up, i find smoking a cigarette helps when i drive, but if thats the case i'll be on about 700 a day

go with the flow even when your not moving

THERES ANOTHER DRIVING SCHOOL WORKING THIS AREA CALLED TOP MARKS DRIVING WHO A COUPLE OF MY MATES HAVE PASSED WITH. SEEM TO HAVE AGOOD REPUTATION(THEY ARE BASED IN BLAYDON AND COVER JUST ABOUT EVERYWHERE BY THE SOUND OF IT).I AM LOOKING TO GET MY YOUNG UN LEARNING WITH THEM.(THINK THERE NUMBER IS 0800 849 7172)

Youngish guy from Marsden.

Took my lessons and passed my test ( first time ) in a Triumph Herald...

Is the test centre still on Bede Trading Est ?

I've been told Bill from L-Passo s.o.m. is good.

Apparently he gets a lot of personally referred business from others who've passed, which is usually a good sign.

I remember the name of my driving school now.

Four lessons with a guy called Ochleford from Morpeth Avenue in a Marina and passed first time.
First car Ford Capri 2000 GTXL what a car.
Second car Wartburg Knight, what a heap of two stroke rubbish.
