Cisco, like Pilot I am 99.9% sure who you are.Mind cannot remember you playing darts for the Lake. I played on Arthur Smiths team with Stevie Lioyd, John Burns, Ossie Williams, Jimmy Bell and a couple of others. We won the league twice and 3 cups when I was playing for them, used to be on the board every night.
Jake, yes you must have been at the same parties as me can remember Martin Boyak there.

I was also on Arther Smiths team Pete, we must have played in different years.
The names you listed I only recognised one and that was Stevie Loyd who was a distant relative of mine.
Can you remember the old woman who made the sandwhiches for the home games at the Lake
As for who I am I think you have been listening to Pilot.

Looking at that photograph of the Miss Mc Gurk you knew I would put money on her being related in some way to the Miss McGurk who was Deputy Head at my school in the 70's, she has the same stature and facial features.baldy.smith wrote:Redwell Netball Team 1956
Miss McGurk, Doreen Bryant, Valerie Heron, Joan Lyons, Maureen Maughan, Sylvia Collins, Ethel Ramsay, Sylvia Smith.

Cisco, I have not seen him since 1980, and I would not really want to see him again, life moves on and some mates you had years ago, you would not want as mates now.Cisco wrote:Do you still see Martin Boyack Jake.
I heard quite a few bad things about him concerning the Whitburn Club.
What happened at Whitburn club?
you can PM me if you dont want to put on the open board,
I would like to know just out of curiosity.

I may have mentioned before, that he lives directly opposite me. I have lived here 3 years, and must have seen him about 4 or 5 times, and have said hello once I think. My gf works for his sister, and I have heard his wife is very poorly, and he isn't in the best of his health himself.Jake wrote:Cisco, I have not seen him since 1980, and I would not really want to see him again, life moves on and some mates you had years ago, you would not want as mates now.Cisco wrote:Do you still see Martin Boyack Jake.

Some of the names of those on the photo are:-
Miss McGurk, Doreen Bryant, Valerie Heron, Joan Lyons, Maureen Maughan, Sylvia Collins, Ethel Ramsay, Sylvia Smith.
Due to the photograph having been badly torn with pieces missing, one name is missing. This photo is the restored version, the original being in terrible condition.
zip me up in my oilskins and jumper.
no more down the docks i'll be seen.
just tell me old shipmates.
i'm taking a trip mates.
and i'll see them on fiddler' green.

I knew a Kenny Chapman, did he have a best friend Jimmy Bilton? Jimmy was my bf way back then...Cisco wrote:Sorry about that Axeman I should have rechecked the posts.
Only a couple of names there I recognised, Nyberg I don't know a Phil, it was Geordie Nyberg I knew, I think they lived in Lake Ave.
the other name was Binks, but I was only young when I knew them, I think they lived in Suffolk Gardens or in that area, I had a mate Kenny Chapman who lived there, it was one of the girls I knew but can't remember her name only that she was blonde.
The only Newbrook I knew was Ronnie they were from the hill.
I lived away from the area for a while in the seventies, my main memory's of drinking in Shields was the sixties.
Cisco
Did Kenny`s Dad d*e in a boating accident?
Yours,
Hilary
