Had my first ever pint in there at the tender age of seventeen. The bar was that tall it was a struggle to reach the glass, and I probably looked ridiculous in a long collared shirt and kipper tie!
I remember it cost 10p a pint! (To my embarrasment, when I was asked what I would like a pint of, I replied "beer")
I can also remember a gloriously large open gas fire, one of them first ones to look like a real log fire, and barmaids with big jugs (or was that the snug in the Commercial where they'd fill them up for you?)

Cor, nearly forgot about that, I had a mate who lived there when I was at school. I can't remember his name, but I do remember that he was a very fast runner. Strange, the things that you remember isn't it. Wonder what happened to him?
