My Great grandparents were Brennans from Kilkenny Ireland who emigrated to work the mines in Wrekenton around 1900. Around 1911, the three families (2 Brennan Families, One Mealey) moved to South Shields and lived in Bede Street Lord Nelson Street and Lemon Street. I know Bede & Lord Nelson Street were down the Docks and probably demolished or bombed but Lemon Street still exists, top of Stanhope Road.
Does anybody know where there might be any old photos from the 1910- 1940 period for these streets ? Can't find anything online.
Thanks
Bede, Lemon & Lord Nelosn Street
