Anybody football fan who had the pleasure of watching the goal scoring legend in the 60s-70s at Simonside Hall might want to attend South Shields home game at Filtrona Park this Saturday.
A presentation is going to be made at half time by the South Shields FC Supporters association for his remarkable goal scoring achievements.

Len Smith was a brilliant goalscorer and I spent a happy childhood watching him at Simonside Hall in all weathers. He was quite an accomplished goalie as well, and just a generally top non league player. That was back in the days when South Shields were one of the top non league sides in the country.
