A nice lot of swans on it so it must have the lake that inspired. Peter Tchaikovsky to write the music for the ballet of Swan Lake.

Hi Beachbum, the bluey green thing in the background is from the fair, it is a large inflatable kids slide.

Re: marine park
Well I,m not living too far away from the said park at mo and I think its a fantastic idea to restore most of it to its former glory.Should look great.Especially the bandstand. There is a large sign at the gates which says the work will be completed by august.Be nice if that happened but I think they will need to increase the workforce tenfold to have a realistic chance.Hope they prove me wrong.

My sister fell in the lake in the late forties, fortunately some workmen were nearbyrusty wrote:i am trying to obtain some details of a young lady who drowned in the lake late 50,s early 60,s only info i have was first name was Lavina /
and managed to pull her out. Close thing though, if they hadn't been there she would
have drowned for sure.

Re: marine park
There is only one photo up now the one with a few dozen white swans on it. So the lake must be owned by Queen Elizabeth as only royal families are allowed to own swans
