Anthony Edward Boyd Smith and family

Post by jeff »

I am looking for information regarding Anthony Edward Boyd Smith, born c1926, only son of William and Florence.
Believed to have emigrated South Africa/ Rhodesia. Does anyone have any information or links with him or his family.

William was the son of Edward Smith, prominent Shields businessman, once Mayor and Centenary Freeman of the Borough.

Anthony is/was my wife's cousin but she never actually met him. Be nice to know if there are any descendants to amke contact with.

Update.............
A E B Smith, a bank clerk, sailed from Southampton in November 1948 for South Africa on the Carnarvon Castle.

I believe that he may have married a Margaret Bagley in Sept 1946 in South Shields. The passenger list for that voyage shows a M Smith aged 24 with a male companion A Smith aged 22.

Does this jog any more memories?

Still trying. But I believe that there were two daughters before they left England, Maureen and Margaret.
Any help appreciated please.

Update on this one.
Just got clarification that Anthony did not marry Margaret Bagley, that was another Anthony Smith. So I am still looking for any ifo re AEB Smith. #-o

Have you tried a DNA test on one if the genealogy sites? I did mine on ancestry was about £50 and I got a boatload of connections through it.
