Hi dennis the school on sunderland road was cleadon park Comprehenasive when i went there. It was called Cleadon County secondary school before that as i recently discovered. As for the juniors the only one i can recall is the one on park Avenue just off King George road now called Ridgeway juniors.

I did a trip to Bergen and back on the Leda in 1970, I remember it was a winter crossing and very bad weather on the way out, it was great fun watching people go green in the bar. :D :D :D Had a similar experiance on the North sea ferry going to zeebrugge. Should have tried the Crown @ Tyne Dock. Became a night club after the bingo. What an experiance, more comonly rerfered to as a pint and a fight. Also remember calling the La Strada the claggy mat, on acount of the carpets.

Only steam train i remember is the model one that used to be in the window of Rippons toy shop opposite the town hall.

Parents used to take me to gypsy's green back in the early 70's to see the donkey derby or the motor show. Sometimes with a guest appearance by the wombles or Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. I also remember it had a harriers club. Had a lot of memories for me also did a number of appearances when it stage...

Remember the wrights biscuit cards. I used to have an old biscuit tin full of them. looking back now i wish i still had them. would have been a worthy collection or two of the mischief goes to mars.
