Finished my A levels etc at the college last year, was there for three years (performance nvq and btec in me third year),and I must say, I wasted most of my first two years in the westoe...The way they've done it up now looks like it's trying to be a wetherspoons looking sort of place? Many an episode happened with girls trying to kill themselves in the toilets ,fights outside, 8 of us singing bohemian rhapsody on kareoke (oooooh dear...)....
Re: ho ho

The westoe
Does anyone remember the Flaxton Boys who used to collect glasses in the westoe early 70s??? twins with tweed jackets. ???We all used to sit in the corner upstairs play cards and sent the oldest looking one of us to the bar to get served.

We used to sit at westoe seats, and watch the younger one run past all
the time, he never walked.
They used to work at the woodyards at Tyne Dock, never seen them for
about 25 year.

I'm sure he used to run down to the top club for toasties for the drinkersmalb wrote:yeah they were always running about.
i think the old timers used to send them to the shops for stuff.
there prob still running around for someone as we speak only i think they will be a bit slower now?
in the Westoe.
There used to be a gang of us sitting at Westoe seats, and everytime
he ran past we would all shout together "the flaxton boys"
He would just give us a dirty look, "safety in numbers"
And when I hit 17 I started drinking in there, in the small back room.
He knew who I was and tried to throw me out one night, but we all
laughed at him again.
I think that was the last time I saw him.

The Flaxtons
I think it was their destiny to be involved in the club scene.
Pleased to see they have done well for themselves.
