Anyone remember the Ranch House club?
Hi There,
Hope some of you do remember the Ranch House, it was my favorite haunt, had some great times there...
If anybody does know this nightclub, can you tell me exactly where it was? been a long time now, and been away from Shields many years now It was not too far from the railway station that I remember..
Hope some of you were there and may be of help, thanks ...
Hilary

Used to go on odd occasions,it was under the south west corner of the multi storey car park near to the public conveniences. Miles Knox ran it before it closed, The name escapes me but it was something to do with the racehorse Red Rum as I can remember he had the horse there for the reopening of club.My favourite spot was the Shoreline or Beach Club as it was known, found you got a more mature crowd there than the kids who frequented the Ranch House.

Hiya Pete, It changed later to the Rum Rummer club..think that was the name...I actually went down the day Red Rum opened the new club, he was my favorite horse, and I took him his favorite treats which were Carrots and Polo mints, and he loved them, gentle as a lamb was Rummy, great horse!..Jarrow Pete wrote:Used to go on odd occasions,it was under the south west corner of the multi storey car park near to the public conveniences. I met Red Rum and he was gentle and a complete gentleman, believe it was the Rum Runner club then....
And I remember quite a few of the girls mum`s used to dance there, it was a great atmosphere!
