Extra Photo I Missed

Early 1970s. Hundreds of doves were released at the start of this particular Sports Week. Not a very special photo but nostalgic none the less, if just for the jackets. This was taken from the forecourt of the town hall where they were released

I had a jacket similar to the one in the foreground, I remember I wore it to take the oral section of my first class pilots license in 1978, these very aged pilots, 12 of them all sat around a boardroom table, all looked at me strangely and the chairman commented I was very colourful.

Colourful indeed At that time I wore Wranglers, a tie dyed t-shirt which I did myself. I had hair past myshoukder blades a huge beard and moustache. I was a definitive hippy/rocker and well known around the town.
My family home in Roman Road has a history of Tyne Pilot families living there (as you probably know). Over the road to my house my first ever girlfriend lived in a very old Tne Pilot families house. It may have been Purvis?
BTW. Are you retired or still working on the river?
