c1971. A bus trundles down a deserted King St. What is interesting about this 'blurred' view are the 'poles' in view. There were several of these ex-trolley bus poles dotted around the market place, many still bearing huge gashes from when the area was bomed in WW2. I have a close up view of one pole, but can't find it at the moment.
This was the Fairground Carnival day, usually a week after the Sports Week Parade. c 1970. This guy was diving into a small, shallow tub of water. The carnival was far superior in its varied content, and always came up with something spectacular.
This was 'Lady Godiva' who led the parade, being introduced to the crowd.

Great photo's Hartman.
That second one with the bloke diving into the shallow water ...... any idea just how shallow the water was ?
That platform he dived off must be about 50 feet up, and would guess that unless the water was at least 10 feet deep
he really was taking a hell of a risk.
Mad ...... or what ?

No idea how deep it was but I remember it was shallow, that was the whole point. It wasn't very wide either. He was a showman. Danger mixed with showmanshipmalaymac wrote:Great photo's Hartman.
