my grandfather was front row second from left ALBERT EDWARD PLEWS

my grandfather ALBERT EDWARD PLEWS was also known as TEDDY WELLS used to do the clubs as a comedy act known as THE TEDDY WELLS CONCERT PARTY ,apart from that i know very little about him

in the doorway of number 26 madras street ,simonside in 1946 my granfather albert edward plews and my dad brian plews aged 6

did you know the green family at all they lived 6 ebor street ernest alexander and alice green ? did you know the lawrensons ?
did you know the scott families of madras street they were railway guards ?

they were all my direct ancestors

ernie and alice green were my nanas mam and dad

now this is a small world my grandad lived at 6 ebor street and my dad was born there ,they moved to 26 madras street when my dad was 3 years old in 1943 ,i will enquire as to whether my dad knew them .
heres a photo of the back of 6 ebor street my dad brian plews and his older sister doreen plews in 1942

thanks ,up until 5 weeks ago i hadnt a clue about my grandfather as he died in 1947 and my dad was only 7 so he doesnt have many memories at all .
heres 33 ebor street in which my grandad and grandmother were when they got married in 1917

from what little i know he worked on the railways as a guard but i cant find out which one

a photo of alice maud plews(nee west) in 1932 with her child doreen plews aged 2

I see your grandfather was born in Middlesbrough Plewsy.
He was only 51/52 years old when he died.

hi yes he was ,he was one of nine brothers and sisters
he and two brothers were in the dli
his brother jack (john) william plews pictured below

I have already said that your Curry's are not related to my Curry's. If you know the Green family from Dale Street then Cheviot Road we might be talking about a very very small world.

We lived at 25 madras Street my sister was born in that house, my dad worked on the railway Bill Holland we left in 1964 or 65 my name is Stephen holland and me and my brother were in the jazband we used to practice in Simonside club I was the youngest member then aged 8. I went to Simonside junior school then had about two weeks at the Monkton school when it first opened can anyone remember our family my brother was Billy holland

Does anyone remember our family the holland s at no 25 we left in 1964 lived there from early 50s lived next door to the mckennas I think and the hare's on the end house. We now live in Nuneaton still got relatives in Gateshead.

I can remember practicing with simonside jazz band in Simonside club when the girl threw the mace in the air smashing one of the club's expensive lights the committee were not to happy.
