Bits and Bobs

Memories of Shields 50's-80's, Billie Meths, large expanses of fields, trees, and wild flowers at what is now Harton Moor Estate, the different rooms in the Ship and Royal, Hintons, T.G. Allens, Binns, a very scary driving examiner in early 80's and equally scary doctor in Emergency at Ingham, a man with glasses who sold gazettes in King Street and would shout really loud behind you and you'd jump out of your skin, Fat Moe's disco where you came away with your clothes smelling of damp.

She does work with asylum seekers apparently - wasn't she the consultant on that department? My mum says she goes to church wearing Santa hats in June. I remember taking my gran to Casualty once and she thundered down the corridor and boomed "Will all those people who are not bleeding, stand in the corridor!" In other words, potential heart attacks, strokes etc weren't entitled to a seat. A legend!
