NHS number

Post by cushy butterfield »

Who would I contact to find out my NHS no. after all these years. I have been tearing the house apart looking for something that would have it written on?

It would be on any tax forms/letters you may have received, or any old payslips
from when you worked in the UK. Delilahcat may be able to give you more info.

Try asking your doctor or hospital to get it for you.

I don't know whether doctors or hospitals in Canada have that sort of access, but
worth a try, no doubt they would charge for the information over there.

Thanks Baldy, looks like I will have to look harder at home to find something with it on. Cos it all seems double dutch to me. I used to work for the Inland Revenue in South Shields and Newcastle so I am sure they have a record of it somewhere.

Why do you need it?
If you have a UK passport you are entitled to NHS care you don't need an NHS number. I doubt anyone will ask you for it.

Cushy requires her NHS number to check whether she's entitled to a pension or not.

Thats right Baldy, worked in the UK for quite a few years before coming over here. So I hope to get at least a little something. :)

Aye, ye got that right, just watching the early morning news about the job losses at Nissan. My passenger assistants son works at one of the firms that supplies parts to Nissan and they have to lay people off as well, nothing is safe now and then Gordon Brown has the nerve to travel the country on a train visiting people....... bet he doesn't visit Nissan

I think that's the same one as I mentioned Pete, apparently he's worked there
since leaving school and he's not sure if his job's safe

I see in the news that cabinate minister Hazel Blears is saying that we should protect the immigrants against hate during this recession.

Excuse me but how about protecting the ethnic english against all the cheap labour flooding the country :x
