any one know of Colin White used to live quaary lane,was in police force/boys brigade ?

Colin White passed away quite recently.There was an article in the Gazette about him.

I knew Colin White very well when I lived in South Shields. He was a young policeman at the time and he used to pop in to my workplace several times a day for a cup of tea; while pounding his beat. His beat then was between the Town Hall and Westoe bridges and I worked alone in a small shop in Wharton Street. I went to his house a couple of times but it wasn't in Quarry Lane at that time. He also got me to help out at the Boys Brigade at their place in Westoe Village. I coached some of the lads in weight training for a short while.
I was not aware of him having passed away and feel very sad about it. Colin was a giver and could never do enough in helping young people, a very likeable man and I'm sure many, many people will miss him.

Yeah I was sad to see the news in the Gazette.

I didn't know him personally, he was on a different shift to me in the 70's.

Remember him more as the band Major on march day.
