It's been a few years, Mr. A., but I think he was blotto for much of the filming. The part I remember most is the hotel scene with Martin Sheen.

I know the film took 3 year in the making, and went way over budget.
Francis, put a lot of his own money into it.
What about the song in that scene you mentioned

I can't recall a song being played in that scene, Mr. A. All I can remember is the sounds of chopper blades and the ceiling fan going. I also recall from Heart of Darkness that Sheen had a heart attack during the filming, but can't say at what point. I think they had to use doubles until he came out of the hospital.

Betty, it was the doors classic "the end".
Who said in the film "I love the smell of napalm in the morning"?

I seem to recall that song being played twice in the film, Mr. A. I might be wrong though. It's been at least 15 years since I saw it but I trust you on this.

It was Robert Duvall who delivered the classic line.

I humbly bow to your speed, Betty. I only hope you're not so quick in all things.

Betty, the song continues near "the end" of the film when they chop the cow in half.

Pilot wrote:OMG, I love a good western and watched the above film on TV last night  What a load of drivel, not only was it a modern day thing, it was all about the relation ship of two gay lovers sorry not gay as they were both married with kids, Bi-sexual lovers, critically acclaimed, Oscar winner, it was tripe, OK the scenery was fantastic and if they had cut out all the actors it would have made a good nature film, but the storyline was rubbish, one thing I'm beginning to understand is that if a film is billed as critically acclaimed it means don't bother watching. I've nothing against the Gay/Bi community but give me John Wayne any day. 8)
Completely agree pilot…

however, picture this… sless and MrA go on a fishing trip together and one of them forgets to bring his tent so they have to both sleep in one tent…

I have no point mind, I just wanted you to picture it.. lol …………
