Anyone who went to Westoe between 1960 and 1964? A teacher I remember was "Pop" Robson who taught Maths and although he was very strict he really helped me build my confidence. One lad I was in class with was Ken Rankin. I played for the football team and we were pretty handy as I recall. Happy days...and from there I went on to Marine and Tech college before my family moved south in 1968. I'd love to catch up with anyone who was at Westoe at the same time.

Hello Ken T

Alex J. here: I was at Westoe from September 1963 until July 1968.
Some of the teachers I remember are Mr Stenton Science Teacher, Mr Gardener Metalwork Teacher, Mr Shipley Mathematics Teacher, 'Doc' {two watches Holliday) Geography Teacher, Mr Mullen, bald with Trilby Hat.
Some classmates names I recall: Eddy Frelford, Alan Emerson, Frankie Gaffin, (John?) Salem, Paul Cook, David Bainbridge, Brian Whitehead, Paul Cook, Dennis Smallwood, Ian M(a)cSweeney... 30 odd in the class & that's all I can remember at present. You had to be able to swim 25 yards when you left , now it's 25 metres and ther's still 30 odd in classes!

Alex
