Royal Engagement

Post by gnads » Sun Dec 03, 2017 12:13 am

Prince Harry has made a statement that there will be no fruit cake at his wedding.

Prince Phillip has come out and said, "Stuff him I'm going anyway!"
Nappies & Politicians should be changed often. Both for the same reason.
I don't have an attitude I have a personality you can't handle.

Thongs are good enough for anyone. :D

As for Camilla, I've always thought it was a bit rugged she is judged so much on her looks. She looks like just about any other woman of close to 70-probably as good as most, way better than some. What matters is what type of person she is.

Why must the royal family marry only model material? It is not as if Charles himself was ever a male model. As long as he and Camilla are happy together, that's the main thing.

I use to wear a thong, but then I got arrested for flashing in public at the beach, it wasn't my fault, no body told me I was wearing them back to front.

I would rather judge a person by their heart than their face. You cannot generalise of course, but some of the most selfish self-centered people I have known, were blessed with good looks and exploited them ruthlessly.

try home made bourbon mate, that stuff will make a dugong look pretty, or at the very least, look like Margret thatcher, not much of an improvement I know.

I just wish he had been man enough to stand down and stick with Camilla in the first place  instead he decided to pick a young lady to marry and use her for her blood line to produce children, and still have his bit on the side [-X spoilt little rich boy! Diana was used and abused in my oppinion, then pushed to one side and was expected to just let Charlie do as he pleased...well im glad she stood up against the royals, right or wrong she gave them all a shake up,she was the best thing that had happened to the royal family, the second best thing was her sons,so i dont think charlie deserves to be next in line,i think he should go a million miles away with his bit on the side and never return!
Time to stand down now charlie you dont deserve to be King! I for one wont celebrate that day if it ever comes..how can you repect a man who wished he was a tampon

You don't have to respect him. That's not part of the deal.

The whole point with royalty is it is a line of succession based on birth. It isn't a position like politics where someone is voted in.

It is passed on from parent to child or else in a very strict, known order according to genetic closeness.

So you don't get to choose and if you want a system like royalty in your country, you have to be prepared for the fact that some generations will be gold, some will be duds.

I think Charles was a victim of his position. Brought up to take his role seriously. Probably with contempt in the family for the last one who abdicated. It would have been unthinkable for him to stand down and bring scandal on the royals again. But he had to marry. I don't think he knew Diana well enough before being more or less pushed into marrying her. He wasn't all that old, but I remember at the time there were mutterings constantly in the press about his age and failure to settle down.

I think Camilla might also have been a bit of a victim of keeping up appearances.

If that is true, Camilla's father was a bit of a manipulator.

They should not have restarted the affair after they were both married (I have read Charles stopped seeing her for a few years after his marriage) but I'd guess he was deeply unhappy too.

The royal line though? By the nature of the system, you have to take the bad as well as the good (unless they are axe murderers or whatever) so you'll be getting Charles unless the queen outlives him. :D
