His mother never taught him not to bite. I was in hospital watching him play for Liverpool when I think from memory he scored his third
hat trick in a row. And I thought his team played in the same style as Bayern Munich but at a faster tempo.

I agree and I don't watch even on terrestrial TV. I find I just get angry watching footballers cheat and behave like nasty spoiled little children.
I do like to bet on football and when I do then I try to watch the game but every time I do I last about 15 minutes then I have to turn it off as I'm sick of watching the over-rich, under-talented, immature fools. There was a "pundit" on TV yesterday attempting to explain why Suarez bit that Italian. He explained that football is such a passionate, high pressure game and so important to those involved that bad behaviour of that type is inevitable. Strange, I can't remember Bobby Charlton biting anyone or Geoff Hurst hurling himself to the floor clutching his leg when no-one had touched him. I guess they just didn't care enough back then eh??
Footballers.....don't get me started!!

just tell me old shipmates.
i'm taking a trip mates.
and i'll see them on fiddler' green.

Ballet with a ball I call it these days, all those overseas players coming here and bringing fancy grass with them, football was designed to be played on grass in August, September and May, the rest of the season its a game played on mud !

When I think about the recent shenanigans in Brazil and the vast amounts of money paid to modern footballers, my mind goes back to one of my boyhood football heroes John Atyeo of Bristol City. Who he you may ask?
John played 645 games for City from 1951 to 1965 scoring 351 goals for his club and 5 in internationals. Never booked or sent off in his career. And he was a part time pro, working also as a Quantity Surveyor and latterly as a teacher.
There will be other players with similar records from those times from many other clubs who put the modern players deep in the shade with regard to commitment and behaviour.

What's the difference between Brazil and Oscar Pistorious?
Oscar Pistorious has a better defence and more shots on target......
