if you come from the east end of london your nick name is an eastender so if you come from this place is your name a bellender ?

hey there is a place over here called Karl f*cker and is spelt the same way!!! in hugh writing on the side of the shop wall, i will take a pic and post it on here!!!(i can do it now) :wink: :lol: :lol: :lol:

Then you must have passed right by where I live Captain. No Place is just further up the road towards Beamish from me. Beamish is about a mile and a half up the road. What about Quaking Houses which is in the same vicinity.

My favourite is Northumberland's Shilbottle. It gets renamed by road sign 'editors' so often I don't know why they don't just change the village name.

Would save a mint in sign replacements.

It's the same with Cowshill in Weardale, it has been modified many times with the same end result and I think it stinks :lol: :lol: :lol:

I believe it is a bend in the tyne below where the railway station was.

It got its name in the days of sail from the antics of the crews sailing their ships up and down river.
