any one ever play snooker and billiards at the saloon above the shops in the main street Woolworths side :|

Rusty can remember going to the snooker hall in the back lane (Queen Street ?) behind Woolworths. You had to go up a narrow staircase from the street to get into club.

That'll be the one Pete.

There was a big one in Green Street, and another at the Westoe end of
Victoria Road, it later became a working mans club I believe.

i did hear there was a private snooker hall/club near the Town hall a whi :P le ago.

i remmember it to wasnt it the pits the guy behind the cage took your money and gave u the cues and balls

yes it was above burtons the tailors the i think it became mortons dance hall siam sam
zip me up in my oilskins and jumper.
no more down the docks i'll be seen.
just tell me old shipmates.
i'm taking a trip mates.
and i'll see them on fiddler' green.

I remember the one in queen Street really dark inside but a canny night out went in late 60s/early 70s

Was there not a snooker hall above Burtons as well, I am sure there was.?
