I am a collector of the humble photographic snap and 'found' vernacular photgraphs (and negatives) and a photographic historian. My collection of images and photographic memorabilia is vast. These images come from a strip of 'found' 35mm negatives. As my collection of images consists of unknown people, at an unknown time and in an unknown place, I was surprised these turned up as it is rare I able to name a loction, local or otherwise. You will of course recognise the beach. c1956/60-ish.
I don't restore my 'found ' images at all, as I like to leave them as I found them.

By the looks of those photos fine sunny days in Shields are not as rare as some make out.
How was a totally inorganic world able to create organic life? Answer it couldn't and didn't

That is not litter on the beach. Those are stones.
I often think the same thing when I go down there. It looks like the council should pull its finger out
but on closer inspecction they are just rocks.

Crikey, really, it's amazing how little the place has changed over the past fifty years!
