Beautiful photos.
I was about to say it looked lovely and sunny, but I gather it wasn't all that warm.

Some biggish waves frightening the birds at Marsden. How high are the cliffs here?

I was brought up on the cliff tops overlooking Marsden bay in the 1950s and this was our playground, I know Pete and others were around at that time, do you think the sand levels have dropped about 3 feet since then ? I'm sure the rocks weren't so prominent in the 1950s.
I voted leave

You are right Pilot cannot remember that many rocks between Camels Island and Marsden Rock even with the very low spring tides.

I noticed that as well, I remember living down there nearly in the summers
between 1981 and 1984 and there weren't that many rocks

its a bit like shields small beach, after a storm you can see the remains of the old seaplane shed in the sand, then a few days later its back under a few feet of sand

It's quite amazing how the sands shift about with the tides, I took some pictures last year and sent them to the council complaining about coastal erosion, a week later everything was back to normal and I felt like a total berk!

Anyway got a set of pictures taken in Marsden Bay all coming up on the photoblog from tomorrow (all in glorious technicolour HDR).

Can remember when they used to remove thousands of tons of sand every week for building purposes from the beach at Trowl Rocks. There used to be a big argumment every year about this, but the sand levels always replaced themselves.
