any info on Mr Smith - teacher in late 1960's?
I went to Mortimer in the late 1960's, and one of my teachers was a Mr Smith (taught games, plus a subject I can't remember).
I heard that he'd killed himself. Can anyone give any more details, please? I'd be especially interested in when and where it happened, so I can look it up in the local newspapers. Thanks.

I too was educated at Mortimer Road County Secondary School,
and I wasn't clever, I was a very average pupil.

I also don't think I'm clever, but quite a few people on these boards
seem to think I am.

Yes John Smith Maths and Games teacher.
Rottenest dirty b*****d there was.
Killed himself (hanging) at his bail hostel.
charged with s*x with an eight year old girl.
As he was in a bail hostel it was probably a relative.
He was the nastiest s**t I've ever come across.

Mr Smith did teach Games and Maths, I didn't like him at all, first time I was in his class and we had to say who we were , he said not another Clark, he hated my elder brother, and from that day he was always rotten to me. This is memory of school always sticks with me, He threw books at me when he went off in one of his tempers.

Well I'm pleased to say, that as far as I'm aware he's not a member of my branch of the family.
