Never heard of the poshies ? was that Marsden ? :D
Geordie Kane ,am i right in thinking the Dad,your talking about ..
he has been a family friend for years ,,i love him to bits ,,he is right off his tree, ..my kind of friend ...
we were at a funeral once ,and he had me and other laughing our heads off,[it was after the funeral,of course]
he was a handfull in his younger days ,,and is still game now ,even at his age ....... :D
Im sure the Drivers went to my school...I used to go to school with the Brennans, and i am still close friends with Dickie and Carol..
Certain things stick in your mind as you grow older, and one of the things that i will always remeber ,was the day another school come to our school[carnt remeber what school it was like #-o ]....this big crowd of people come walking up our school field ,they come for the brennans,i think there was 4 Brennans at our school at the time this happend ,,and the 4 of them took off there shirts and walk towards this big crowd ......it was a tense moment and nobody could believe what they were seeing ,,,,teachers come running out and everything ,nothing come of it ,,and the crowd walked away.. but the brenanns were a game bunch, and showed no fear ...
and the thing what is diffrent from today ,,is no weapons were used ...bare knuckle fights, best man wins..
but the cowards of today dont fight ,,they just use weapons...

Geordie Kane, I remember the father and the son. Life's colourful characters.
I'm guessing, but the son is probably in his early 50's now, so how old for his father ? :|
Just like his father, the son was the same unpredictable sort of lad who could be the life and soul of any party. :)

The Poshies was what we called Cleadon Village.
Never much of a gang there, but we used to go scrumping apples out of peoples gardens.
Bunch of buggers we were!!
There was a park right in the middle of the village, were we used to collect conkers, too.
I had some "interesting" experiences there with the gals from the Poshies!!!!
They liked real men, you see, not them posh wimps!!!
Nowt like a bit of rough, eh, ladies?? 8)

I remember well the fights we had with the Nook on Temple Park. They were the most violent ones.
I remember the cop cars driving up onto the fields to chase us away!!!

And never a safety helmet in sight!!
It's a wonder we ever made it past our teens!!!
The Wild Witch-Wizard of Whiteleas
Was a changeling's son from Mars.
He learnt his songs
From the Cosmic Throngs
And played them on a Fender guitar - Oh yeah.

I remember that day. Eddie Brennan was in my class.
It was Stanhope road school that came to fight 'em.
Load a crap it was. We were all ready as backup, just in case Eddie, Dickie and Hoss needed it (as if!!!)
Ah, the good ol' days!!!

Then they shipped me off to the Grammar-Tech, where curly made a man out of me!!!
