MINER'S BANNER

Post by comeonthen »

Former pit workers are racing against time to raise money for a new banner to mark the 25th anniversary of the miners' strike. It will cost more than £10,000 to make
There will be dozens of banners from all over the country in the theatre, and it would be fantastic to have the new Westoe banner for the occasion. One of the key things Mr Watson wants the banner to be ready for is the London opening night of the play Maggie's End in April. from the shields Gazette yesterday.

Over £10,000 for a banner to be waved about in a theatre, during a play. What's going on. A load of geordies intent on spoiling a play for the paying public paying West End rates for admission.. Yes that should make them popular and make people remember us.

It makes you wonder if someone is extracting the urine. If they have a spare £10,000 you would think it would be better spent on the youth or elderly of the town. The old banner will still be about or if not a copy could be made of it for a fraction of the cost of a meaning less modern day banner.

The only people that extracted the urine was the miners themselfs. Bolshy gits, cut there own throats then Whinged about loseing there jobs.
They followed there union creeps to the likes of scargil ...like lambs to the slaughter.. Serve them right.
The unions have had a big part in the demise of Englands downfall.

If it be true about the banner waving in London, then all they will do is prove the government right, there Bolshy trouble makers.
I hope it's wrong, as they say £10,000 could be put to better use. Now that makes more sense than stirring up trouble.

Why cant they do what they've always done and get their goodladies to make the banner.

I see no need to spend £10,000 on someone else to make a banner when they can perfectly make one themselves for nothing.

Seems like someone is taking someone else for a ride.
I always value Pilots wit and input
