Ranks Mills, we used to get lots of small ships bringing grain to Ranks on Gateshead side of the river.
the area has been developed over recent years
some of the bridges across the Tyne at newcastle

the flour mill didnt always look that clean and tidy did it ,,,it looks much better since they painted it ,,,considering its one of the main things you see along that water ....

Well i preferred it when it was scruffy and had ships running to it Anna, but now its the Baltic Art Gallery or something I remember it was running with rats and pigeons in its hay day.
