World Class Radio Controlled Car racing in SS this wkend

Post by cpattinson »

Sand Dancers.

This Sunday at Temple Park there will be a big competition for Radio Controlled model cars. This is a massive competition, with some of the top drivers in Europe and the UK. There will be a purpose built offroad track in the main halls, with plenty of fast, close and exciting racing. Its free to watch, so come along to watch, or find out more about our sport, and how you can compete at local clubs such as Jarrow Off Road Buggy Club. You won't regret coming if you turn up to watch.

For pictures of what we race, have a look at http://www.oople.com

Here is some more information about our racing:

The cars can reach speeds of upto 50 mph indoors, as we are limited by the size of the hall. The cars are 1/10th scale, which means they are a tenth of the size of an actual car, roughly about 16" long, or 40cm. They are off road cars, jumping high in the air, and going over rough terrain. In our outdoor season, we race on grass, mud, and concrete tracks. This is a recognised motorsport, and some of the drivers (not me) are fully sponsored and paid drivers. Any questions, just ask. Thanks.

Thank you.
