Mount Kilimanjaro
Last year I scaled mount Kilimanjaro. What an introduction, first post I'm a mountain climber. Haha I wish
Anyways more to the point. I may have reached the top, however I would never have done so without the support of my mate, that organised and pushed me through the first stages. Basically I'm posting to see if anybody would fancy having a crack at the mangnificent mountain.
The mate I am talking about is Woza. Did anybody see beyond boundaries, the first series? Basically this kid has one arm, as he says "cancer ate the other one". When we arrived at the foot of the slopes, he was up against it straight away as our mountain guides insisted, one armed men dont scale Kili, they were right Woza failed and was gutted. Only one has managed this before. My aim is to change this.
This is a very basic appeal to start with. Warren said he'd want to have another go. With a team willing to support him I believe he could crack it. Anybody iterested at all? If you are just leave me a message. By the way, reaching the top overnight is the most fulfilling experience you will EVER achieve. Not many people will experience the dark turning to light within ten minutes. I have, if you want proof ask for some photos I shall forward them. Ta Davey

Rephrase that... seems a have a public album on photobox http://www.photobox.co.uk/album/share.h ... um=3568536
At the very bottom I'm the one in the middle. Look very wacked out drunk and disorientated. The joys of altitude sickness but bloody hell I got there

Re: Mount Kilimanjaro
There is a good story (a true one) written by a prisoner of war. I forget the name of the book but he described how escaped from the prison just so he and some others could have a go at climbing kilimanjaro. Imagine that. Escaping, minimal clothes or supplies, prisoners on the run, to climb a pountain.
Good luck with your quest.

Re: Mount Kilimanjaro
A bit of trivia for you.
I can't remember exactly how many now but Mount Kilimanjaro is actually 3 or 4 volcanos-mountains that were close together and because of their constant eruptions over the centuries they gradually merged together and became one volcano. Also in the crater of Kilimanjaro there is a glacier which makes it the worlds closest glacier to the equator.

How was a totally inorganic world able to create organic life? Answer it couldn't and didn't

Welcome Pink and thanks for posting your pics. Brilliant! =D>
I do a bit of rock climbing but I know my limits. Kilimanjaro is
well beyond them. Good luck in your quest. It sounds a worthy
one.
