Brokeback Mountain

Post by Pilot »

OMG, I love a good western and watched the above film on TV last night  What a load of drivel, not only was it a modern day thing, it was all about the relation ship of two gay lovers sorry not gay as they were both married with kids, Bi-sexual lovers, critically acclaimed, Oscar winner, it was tripe, OK the scenery was fantastic and if they had cut out all the actors it would have made a good nature film, but the storyline was rubbish, one thing I'm beginning to understand is that if a film is billed as critically acclaimed it means don't bother watching. I've nothing against the Gay/Bi community but give me John Wayne any day. 8)

Thanks for warning me about this movie, Pilot. Ive not seen it and probably wont bother either. But beware of John Wayne! He was well known in Hollywood as a closet gay!

Hi Jim, I didn't know that about John Wayne, but getting back to the film, I thought the storyline which was billed as ground breaking was poor and fragmented, the soundtrack as far as speech was concerned was poor and mumbled, I did watch it all the way through but was disappointed.

He was well known in Hollywood as a closet gay!

Those three marriages and all those affairs (with women) must have been a sinister Hollywood cover up.

I haven't seen it, I heard it was a bit of a chick flick with blokes. Someone mentioned 'chaps in chaps in chaps' on the Oz board. However I think Jake Gyllenhaal is an excellent actor.

Full Metal Jacket - a great film sless - a bit of trivia - it was filmed in the UK. I'm a big fan of Kubrick movies.
