I’m helping my dad try to trace some relatives. He last met them donkeys years ago, but would love to find them again. Dad is a son of Thomas Smith, who was born in Bowman Street in 1895. Dad was born in 1927 in Liverpool, but visited South Shields lots of times for holidays and to meet his aunties uncles and cousins. Maybe some of the cousins are still around now – but they would be getting on a bit! They would be children of John Smith (known as Jack) born in 1894 and James Smith born in 1900. We think James had a son named Charlie and most of the family lived in or around Bowman Street. Please get in touch if you know them!
