That's a great charachter photo Mr Smith.

By looking at this I see a hard living, hard working man who could tell a tale or two. Perhaps he worked as a fisherman on the boats out the Tyne, away from his family for days/weeks. Outdoors is his place. He will have many stories to tell about his life and the friends he has lost. Less work now on this river but he will return daily to meet those who still work the river. He likes a beer and he has lost his wife too.

Then again, he might be a ballet dancer - I don't know.

The face is really inspiring =D> =D> =D>

What a fantastic collection of photos.
Love all the bridge shots-excellent.
Also loved the snowy pic from Norway.
And gtibri's photo.. and..
well....

They're all good. Curly will have his work cut out for him this month. :D

I think, from memory, that man in MrSmith's photo was from Italy and not actually that old, but had had a hard life and also illness?

Correct sherri, he was only 46/47 years old when the photo was taken, and the hardship in his life
has obviously taken it's toll.

 Now it is in the middle of Winter ya know Baldy! So that wasn't too bad for Sydney weather, a bit warmer than Melbourne by about 5 degrees...brrrr...I think we have had the coldest winter here in Melbourne since the 1990's....and the wettest for at least 7-8 years, we can tell because, our lake has never overflowed in all those years, (as it used to prior with the Spring rains,) but being Winter, and a very wet winter, the lake has officially overflowed for the first time in about 8 years! I wonder what will happen when the "Spring rains" come this year after a very wet Winter?
So it was nice to go up to Sydney where it was a bit warmer....still had some thermals on tho :D ....don't trust our Winter sunny days tooooo much!

Winter in Townsville lasts about a two weeks at the most.
And in Darwin there is no such season as Spring, Summer, Autumn, or winter, as Darwin's has only two seasons WET and the DRY and lots of thunder storms.

Perfect day and conditions for that type of photo, taken in March from the
Lawe Top so I was quite a distance from there.
