hang on, i'll get you a picture

.............

now you may very laugh... but i bought this to do a specific job...

it'll slip inside of one of the pockets of my bike so that i can easily take it out to take a picture while im on the move or if im not carrying my bigger camera etc... a very specific job... i had another cybershot which took excellent pictures... but i leant it to my daughter who in turn left it at a friends place in another town... you know how it goes

so, with a pending small solo tour on my bike coming up over the holidays... i thought that i'd better get this while the huge Harvey Norman sale was on... :D

Tell me about the biggest lens and the shortest lens Bri, then I'll tell you which makes me jealous.

I just wish I could afford better lenses, even though none of the above were cheap except the little 50mm which is a brilliant lens, only £108. The small one is a nikon f1-8 50mm and they take a cracking pic, the biggest one is a sigma 150 -500m f5-6.3 APO HSM its good mid range but a bit soft when at 500 that was £800, the macro is 150mm sigma which is f2.8 and a cracking lens and costs nearly £ 600 I think, the other one is a nikon 18mm -105 kit lens which is ok but not brilliant

yes, panasonic are a good brand (matushitter - i think thats their jap name lol )

my other cybershot has taken an awful beating over the years and has never let me down.. i've seen other brands last not much longer than 12 months...

i took this picture with my old 4.1meg cybershot while on a moving bike, and others :D

The best way to test your lens is chose a distant object and using your tripod take the same object, say mount snowden using all the different lens at various distances say 35 up to 500 compare the results and use the same distance for every shot and do the same for closer objects and compare results then use the same setting each time and adjust to different light as required.

Have you ever thought about a fish eye lens?

my little point and shoot is a Canon Powershot A560 which is 7.1mp and 4x optical zoom, not a bad little thing
