Great shots all round . sorry but if it was us the viewers who were the voters my vote would always go for ones of animal life. so 1st caterpillar. 2nd Blacksmith. 3rd roller doors. 4th lakes.
How was a totally inorganic world able to create organic life? Answer it couldn't and didn't

All of them are interesting shots, I really enjoy having a look at all the variety each week.

Northern, I see you have changed your picture to Windermere. What beautiful area it appears to be. When did you take the photo as I didn't realise you had been away.

......

It was taken in September 09 ... Clare and i spent a few days here.

i changed the photo as photobucket played up, so i decided to get another photo from my imageshack to upload.
It is very nice in the Lake district. We was blessed with some nice weather as well.

I love the photos, northern. If I ever make it to UK, I will make sure I visit the Lake District. I also think Wales looks interesting and I have to admit, it isn't an area i would have considered going to if I had not seen so many of marra's photos.

Love your collage, Blue! Lovely, fresh colours.

At the historial Mont De Lancey in Wandin (Yarra Ranges of Victoria)

Courses in Blacksmithing are done here, with accredited certificates. It was a lovely day viewing the whole estate, then to come in from the cold damp raining spring day, into the blacksmith workshop with the fires going, all toasty and warm where I took this photo :D (Some written info from the web site below.)

The Mont De Lancey Blacksmithing Group comprises over 50 enthusiasts who meet every weekend at the authentic Mont De Lancey Blacksmith Shop.

Our aim is to keep the blacksmithing craft alive by demonstrating and sharing the knowledge and skills of forging with hammer and anvil.

The highlight of our year is the annual Australian Blacksmith Convention. The event sees blacksmiths from all over Australia come to Mont De Lancey to display their unique skills and tools for all to enjoy.

We also run four-week-courses every term for those interested in learning to blacksmith and weld. No experience is necessary, and all tools and equipment are supplied. So come along, meet us and join in.

More information is available at the Mont De Lancey Blacksmithing Group web site.

I liked Danets picture as soon as I saw it, we don't see many pictures of people hard at work. Additionally this picture portrays a trade/craft which is dying out worldwide and therefore, I feel, it is important to keep this effort in the public aye. S Danet becomes a worthy choice to be featured in the photoblog, I'll be in touch soon to gather the important details about the picture.

well done, danet.
It's a top shot, interesting to see a bit of a way of life that has just about died out.
