:D Sherri

Yes Anna they are apartments and the trees in the background are on the foreshore of the ocean. The photo was taken from a balcony on the third floor.

The name is pronounced Mu loo la bar (say it fast  )

We do have some funny names though. I once lived near a place called Dumaresq pronounced dumerik, that one gets the tourists every time.

a lot of aboriginal names around australia curly... lot of English ones as well ;)

There have been several suggestions as to the origin of the name 'Warrnambool'. One is that the area was known to the local Aborigines as 'wirnimble', meaning 'place of plenty'; while the more popular belief is that the name was derived from 'warnambul', a Kuurn Kopan Noot Aboriginal term, meaning 'two swamps'.

Mooloolaba derives from the Aboriginal word mulu meaning Snapper fish, or mulla meaning Red-bellied Black Snake

 Is it really called that?
I was thinking the croc is another example of a very nice 'big thing' along the lines of the big banana and big bull etc.
Is he on the list of big things?
