Danet that's a beauty :)

I like the lilly too it's a lovely colour and I can feel the sand beneath my feet just looking at the sand dune.

Marra, there is only ever one photo chosen, but so what?
The fun for us here on the board is seeing them all-the whole lot of them, varied as they are and from all different countries.
I thought your shot was great, I think the other shots were all great too.
Winning isn't everything.
As a photographer, you should know it is the total exposure that counts. :D

Oh well, the one I fancied has gone! I hate to take second choices but what choice did I have.

I like this action picture, I think I can do something with it, and I think others will like it.

So well done, I'm choosing this one for the weekend.

Thank you Curly. I feel quite proud my photo has been chosen, albeit some tough competition 8)
I also liked, and thought that castle photo by fenella was a sure 'winner'. That photo was placed before I had put mine up, it's a good thing I didn't 'give up' too easily
Pulling a photo out like that, is a sure defeat in itself unfortunately, and I would like to add, that having being a keen sports mum for many years, with much that can go wrong as you could imagine that I have seen over the years, my advice to my son has always been.....to be "consistent" and keep on keeping on, and improving bit by bit every time, sometimes you win, and other times it's good practice to improve upon himself against other competitors. There's where the 'winners attitude' lay. Not pulling out before giving it a good go.
I would like to add, that I feel like a winner each and every week in any case :D :D when placing photographs on the forum, when others give such lovely genuine compliments 8) It's such a good feeling!
Thanks again 8)

Well done, danet. I know you love taking action shots and I have been lucky enough to see some brilliant ones of yours. And every word you said to marra is so true.

=D> =D>

Curly, maybe you didn't mean it to sound that way, but I don't think any of the other photos are 'second best'. The cathedral photo was excellent, but plenty of the others could just as well have been worthy winners too, I thought. There was danet's action shot, the lily pad pond that looked like an impressionist painting, and all the others.

Hi Global, I took the photo from the embankment by the lakeside, using a zoom lens up to 10 optical zoom. It helps to get a close up action shot without getting run over :D I have put in a couple of links below one of which is about women's world titles racing, a web site set up by Englands jet skier Anya Collie 8) I reckon Party Girl could do this too :D Even my fave "GI Jane" Anna

Thank you for the kind words folks :D I have proudly given this link to Kylie so she can read it also 8)
She texted me via phone she was wrapped I won this weeks' photo comp.
Onya Kylie, you go girl! Going to USA world titles in a couple of weeks she is! Good luck.
Fenella, I look forward to seeing some more of your fab photos, and make sure you enter this week's comp and keep the photo in there, no more assumptions or piking out. :D
