SOUTH SHIELDS v HARTON AND WESTOE FRIENDLY DEC 15th.

Post by passtheball » Sat Dec 15, 2012 5:37 pm

A friendly game was played this afternoon on the Mortimer Road School artificial pitch in South Shields arranged in lieu of the postponed Shields Northern League fixture against Guisborough, between South Shields and local Wearside League club Harton and Westoe. The final score was 7 : 1 to Shields, and we are delighted and greatly pleased to report that both Steve Ramsey and Mattie Soulsby were featured in the second half, as was also James Winter new goalkeeper, who was signed from Durham City this week, in the first half. Ramsey and Soulsby have been absent this season because of serious injuries, but are now fit and cleared by their doctors to engage in full physical contact sports, so some good news at last for all concerned. Shields changed much in personnel and formation in both halves and the game was an excellent work out, so many thanks to Harton and Westoe for their much appreciation help. Sunderland RCA will be the visitors at Filtrona Park this Tuesday evening, so most hopefully the weather will not again intervene, match preview etc later.

Should give the team a little confidence I would have thought.
