Having originally signed on loan terms last week from Blyth Spartans, the player has now decided to join the Mariners on a permanent basis, which is very good news. He is 22 years old, formerly of Hartlepools United and hails from Jarrow, so welcome indeed Jordan to the club. A central defender may also it is reported be signed and hopefully in time for Saturday, of whom no further details are as yet available, other than he is 6' 3" in stature. It is my understanding that further player enquiries are in being, of which positive developments and good news are keenly awaited, so fingers crossed. Lee Bell is I am informed definitely available for Saturday, and he together with recent new signing Wayne Clarke will together with Jordan Mellish add needed strength to the defence. As previously reported both Mattie Soulsby and Steve Ramsey are now both back in training, news of the current situation with another long term injury absentee David Colvin is anticipated, and it is hoped that an update can be provided soon. So some good news to report concerning player developments, that will go some way to help the current situation.

Well he didn't stay long-another embarrassment for the club.He was supposed to be the saviour of the club, along with Allison & Macdonald etc,all departed.

Absolutely no embarrassment at all Matty, and Jordan Mellish was never quoted as being 'a saviour to the club', one wonders where you read this ? Had Ashington actually been aware that he did become available at Blyth when he did, then there is no doubt they would have been in contact, also as they are in the FA Vase last 32, have a decent placing in the Northern League table, have money to outpay Shields, are obviously an attractive proposition and like every other club always looking for better players, and the player knew the situation at Shields before he signed. Shields therefore had little realistic chance of keeping Mellish in those circumstances, but obviously a major disappointment to lose him so quickly, after only two games and one friendly, and he is a good player. As for Allison and McDonald best said without any disrespect to both that neither made any impression sufficient for Shields, did not cut the mustard and did not warrant their services being retained.

ONLY FIVE QUESTIONS THEN.................

who signed then?
why were they signed?
did anyone see them play?
who carrys the can??

I remember his mate signing 2 players before an FA Cupo tie and put in the team without seing them even play-nedless to say what happened

it seems the manager can do no wrong at this club-how far do they have to go before he does any further damage????

out of existence it seems.....................
