PLAYER NEWS, TWO IN AND ONE OUT

Post by passtheball » Thu Nov 29, 2012 8:59 pm

Two signings are announced today who will both be available for selection for the game on Saturday. Centre half Wayne Clark from Bishop Auckland, who I am informed was the team captain a couple of years ago, and who previously also played for Darlington, and centre forward Paul Robinson, who until recently was at Jarrow Roofing, and is a former member of Newcastle United's playing staff, so welcome to both, and hoping that both players fill the bill and will do a good job as intended for Shields. Departed a few days ago is Scott Donaldson who has returned to his former club Chester Le Street, so cheers Scott and good luck. Both new players are the same position changes for the two departed today, centre half and centre forward. It's always a real problem attracting the players and positions you want filling at this time of the season and more so when you occupy the basement of the table, but nevertheless two new faces and more hopefully expected as I hear soon, possibly next week if all goes well. Many enquiries are being made I am also informed. Lee Bell will be in the starting line up also, working away is a problem for him at this time, and Tony Coe has recovered from injury and is also available. A word about Mattie Soulsby, having recovered from tibula and fibula leg fractures is now pleased to be back in training and is looking forward to rejoining the team on the park in about four weeks time, as is hopefully also Steve Ramsey, whose contribution has been a massive miss since the opening game of the season. No more news as of yet concerning David Colvin, another important team member whom we have most unfortunately also not seen so far this season due to injury, but the word is a month 'maybe', so fingers crossed....At least a little cheer to bring in time for Saturday to help the cause, hopefully more again very soon.

Great news that we will have a fresh look at the back following a troubled few weeks defensively. Can not comment too much on Clark but the return of Lee Bell on Saturday is excellent news.

It's always exciting to sign a striker and I believe we have one of the league's finest in Paul Robinson. Roofings loss is our gain.

Fingers crossed for more additions over the coming week.

Two excellent signings in my opinion- both very experienced.
We have sorely missed an experienced head at the back and Robinson is a natural goalscorer.

Clark should fit in well with Belly at the back.

Get Ramma and Young Matty fit and team will look a whole lot different.

Thanks for update passtheball looking forward to game tomorrow even more.
