SOUTH SHIELDS v PENRITH, SATURDAY, NOV. 17th

Post by passtheball » Wed Nov 14, 2012 6:40 pm

A real six pointer this Saturday for Shields, and an absolute must to win this game cannot be more stressed. Perhaps a confidence boost of sorts to get a win at long last if only against Alnwick Town, and with no disrespect to them and albeit in the league cup, but nevertheless of some credit, a result otherwise would have been difficult to accept on any count. However, points on Saturday are the requirement for all concerned in Shields colours to stand up and be counted, nothing less is wanted for club and supporters alike, and not least for the players themselves to go out and prove themselves and in the right frame of mind as individuals and as a team capable of doing what is necessary and to get the club out of its present trouble and problems. Further comment is really superfluous. All off field have expectations of a positive reaction to be shown with determination, character, plus a decent display of football with some ability as the team can give, and has given against such as Celtic Nation, Spennymoor, Darlington and neighbours Hebburn and most important the want and the will to win, nothing less. A result from this game will be a launch pad for next Tuesday's game at Durham City, anything less will be self defeating.

Tonights win for Newton Aycliffe 5 : 0 at Norton and Stockton Ancients now really puts the game at Filtrona Park on Saturday into razor edge perspective as no other, with Shields now five points adrift at the foot of the table. It very definitely cannot be said any other way that unless three points are won against Penrith the future is bleak, and all that will mean as a consequence for SSFC both on and off the field. Team management and the players will not be under any illusions as to the survival task now confronting them, and theirs is the responsibility to put matters right.

Another big game today and hopefully a game where we can put some points on the board. Need ALL players to have the same tough, mental attitude towards our battle with many teams around us. Very close at the bottom of league, which could turn out to be more exciting than the top!

I feel passion.....I feel honour.....I feel pride....(kiss ya lucky egg!)
Feel the rythum...feel the ride...Get on up....it's match day time!
