No bad blood between the sides as far as I am aware. But certainly yesterday Shields did themselves no favours with two sendings off, the first Coe was deserved in my opinion, a rash and needless challenge, perhaps he should have been 'subbed' earlier by Feasey , as he can be a bit of a loose cannon at times, youthful exuberance plus perhaps. As for Scroggins, a yellow would have been appropriate, as 'handbags' were in evidence here, and the red was particularly harsh. As for the referee, to say this chap was poor is an understatement to say the least, just not up to the mark in my book, schoolboy level would suit him better, it's a pity no assessor was present to witness his performance. With the scores level and the 90 minutes well in sight, Shields could and should have closed the game down and kept a deserved good point, even allowing for Wightman's 'offside' goal and a really good penalty appeal ignored, and Spennymoor's real offside goal which did stand, a 2 : 2 draw would have been a fair result in my opinion.
