season starts on the 21st of august (not this saturday, but the one after).

Marsden C.W. had a friendly against Waterhouses F.C. of the Durham and District league. Was a canny drive up there (40 minutes). We played on Esh Winnings pitch and it was a lovely ground and surface.

We had our strikers missing, so the manager had to whack a few of the midfield lads up front. We did well, we missed numerous chances (even a penalty - which hit the bar), we missed the target from like 3 yards out. Then in the second half we scored 2 early on. After that the manager made subs (one was myself - going on of course) and i scored 5 minutes later - FIRST MARSDEN GOAL IN 2 AND A HALF YEARS  lmao!

3-0 to Marsden though, although we missed loads of chances, if we had our strikers then we would have hammered them.

Next friendly is this saturday against Unipress F.C. of the Sunderland league. Apparently theyre not as good as Waterhouses.
