She was Jimmy.

I met her briefly in London when she was presenting the prizes at the "Mr Universe" competition, the competition was won by "Len Sell" that year. She was not the brightest person I have ever met (understatement). But I spent most of the day with her then husband Mickey Hargitay, who incidently got stabbed in Paris a couple of weeks later. He was a really nice guy and good company, there were four or five of us spent the whole day together.

Tiny Tim of Tiptoe through the Tulips fame was another to grace the stage at The Latino.
Baldy,Mickey Hargitay died just recently and there was quite a big obituary devoted to his body building and film career. The films were mostly of the sword and sandals variety made in Italy.

Yes I was aware of that Delilahcat. It is only a few months ago that they interviewed him at the side of his swimming pool where he swam quite a few lengths every day. He looked in great shape for his age. He has a daughter who appears in Law and Order or CSI, one of those programmes anyway. She looks a bit like Jayne Mansfied but I think she is much more attractive than her mother was.

I also have another friend who appeared in quite a few of the Italian "Sword and Sandal" films, his name is Paul Wynter. I had him as guest star at a show which I put on at the Pier Pavilion about 1962/63.

You have a lot of strings to your bow Baldy.

I seen Jayne Mansfield at the Latino, it was embarrassing.
Also seen Tiny Tim there with his union jack carrier bag.

A few I seen at the Latino
PJ Proby
Tom Jones
Flowerpot Men
Kathy Kirby
Peter and Gordon
The Tremoloes
Scott Walker
Bob Monkhouse
The Move

It was rumoured at the time Kathy Kirby had a child to Tom Jones born at the Danesfield hospital Jarrow.

It was rumoured at that time Kathy Kirby was of a different persuasion, so if true, it was unlikely she had a child. She never married.

I recently downloaded a lot of her songs, I think she was a very good singer.

I agree Baldy, Kathy Kirby was a great singer that's why I went to see her at the Latino, but I've got to say she was a bit of a disapointment that night.
Batting for the other side, I'd not heard that one, it was well documented at the time she had a long time affair with Bert Ambrose her manager
and svengali.

True or not, it didn't stop me from fancying her. She was the first girl on TV to wear lip gloss (so I believe) she was certainly the first one I ever saw wearing it.

I understand it took four men to carry away the body - two abreast.

I'll get me coat.

I saw Showaddywaddy at the Tavern.

Didn't the Cream and then Hendrix play the old Cellar Club?
